  • In the last 30 years, my journey has allowed me to get to know a lot of people, see a lot of things and be in a lot of places. I gone up and I have gone down. I have gained and I have lost very close relationships. The main thing that I have learned is that it is not about the things we do as much as it is about the type of people we are, as we connect with others. Here, you can read about my continuing quest and about those I come in contact with. They are the main characters. For me, it is mostly about empowering the next generation with love and acceptance to be all that they were created to be. Hoping to stay out of their way…

Redefining life

Finally got to talk to Hengky and heard his story as he faced death twice.Hengky

He and Chicha flew to Banda Aceh on 25 Dec to visit her family. He was discouraged as he had little money; our efforts here have not resulted in any profit yet.

Later that day he sms sharing his discouragement. Today he said that he was ready to quit as his father in law asked him for help with his business. I sms back and said that he should not be focused on money.

Next morning, he was awakened by the terrible earthquake and the sight of building crumbing right in front of his eyes. Hengky though he was going to die. He then remembered being told years before in another earthquake that his life was in God’s hands until He was ready to take him.

They survived the horrible experience only to be told that the sea water was coming. It came with such force that it pulled along cars that were parked on the streets.

Again he though “now my life is really finished” but once again he was spared.

However all the business that he was considering were all gone…

Hengky feels different; he has a sense of confidence and calmness that was not there before.

He is a man that now knows he lives for a purpose.
